STRENGTHENING HEALTH SYSTEMS

Healthcare that is equitable, resilient, and built around people.

Health Solution Alliance strengthens health systems through strategic partnerships, innovation, evidence-based interventions, workforce development, and sustainable financing — improving outcomes from the national level down to the community.

OUR VISION

Every person has equitable access to high-quality, affordable, resilient, and people-centered healthcare services that enable healthier lives and sustainable development.

OUR MISSION

To strengthen health systems through strategic partnerships, innovation, evidence-based interventions, workforce development, and sustainable financing mechanisms that improve health outcomes at the national, regional, facility, and community level.

OUR APPROACH

Five levers, moved together.

No single lever strengthens a health system on its own. We work all five at once, matched to what each context needs.

PARTNERSHIPS

Strategic partnerships

We convene ministries, funders, and local providers around one plan, so effort isn't duplicated or working at cross-purposes.

INNOVATION

Innovation

New tools and models are tested where they'll actually be used, then adapted until they fit the constraints of the system.

EVIDENCE

Evidence-based interventions

We scale what has been measured and shown to work, not what looks promising — outcomes data drives every decision to expand.

WORKFORCE

Workforce development

Systems are only as strong as the people delivering care. We invest in training and retaining the workforce behind every service.

FINANCING

Sustainable financing

We help build financing mechanisms — blended, domestic, and insurance-based — that keep services running after a grant ends.

See how the five come together in practice.

How we work →
HOW WE WORK

Change that cascades from policy to the clinic.

A national policy only matters once it reaches the person waiting at a facility. We work at every level in between so it does.

  • National: shaping policy and financing frameworks alongside ministries of health.
  • Regional: coordinating implementation across districts and referral networks.
  • Facility: strengthening the workforce and systems that deliver care day to day.
  • Community: building the trust and demand that bring people into the system at all.
01 · NATIONAL

Policy & financing

Working with ministries and funders to set the frameworks everything else operates within.

02 · REGIONAL

Coordination & oversight

Translating national policy into plans that districts and referral networks can actually run.

03 · FACILITY

Service delivery

Equipping clinics and hospitals with the workforce and tools to deliver consistent care.

04 · COMMUNITY

Demand & trust

Building the local trust that determines whether people use the services in front of them.

QUESTIONS PARTNERS ASK US FIRST

What strengthening a system actually takes.

How do you know an intervention actually works before it's scaled?

We start with pilot evidence, measure outcomes against a baseline, and only take a model further once it has held up in more than one setting.

What happens when a program's initial funding ends?

Sustainable financing is designed in from the start — often blending domestic budgets, insurance schemes, and multi-year commitments, so services don't stop when a grant does.

Why work through partnerships instead of alone?

No single organization holds every lever a health system needs. Policy, workforce, financing, and community trust each sit with different actors — partnership is how those pieces move together.

Every level of the system moves faster with a partner.

Whether you're a ministry of health, a facility network, a funder, or a community organization, we work from wherever you're starting.
